Just finished reading Booklife: Strategies and Survival Tips for the 21st-Century Writer by Jeff Vandemeer. The book offers great insights, especially relating to the social network sites. An opportunity to guest blog came my way right after I read Vandermeer’s material, so I jumped at the chance. But some of his suggestions were beyond what I feel capable of doing. To be honest I skimmed or skipped some of the book because things such as ads and downloads were more complex topics than I was prepared to handle. The book does offer what it promises to those ready and technologically willing to press on with the multitude of tools and opportunities now available. I especially liked Vandermeer’s suggestions for building a website including a press page. I also liked his suggestions for blogging topics. I’ve taken notes and hope to apply his ideas as time goes by.
