At first I feared this book was just another grammar reference, and at $40 I expected more. I need not have worried. Rhetorical Grammar explains how the structure of sentences may affect readers. The authors explain how a writer's choices regarding word placement, phrasing, etc., may add impact and rhythm. I've not yet finished the book, but once I do I'm going to review my writing with a keen eye and a red pencil.
