Lately I've been reading some great books. Susan Elaine Jenkins' memoir titled Scandalon reads like a compelling novel. You won't be able to put it down. Patrick J. McGuffin's Making Sense Out of Life will help you live proactively. You'll want to keep his book on your shelf for reference when the going gets tough. Then there's Sandra Lesher Stuban's The Butcher's Daughter. Stuban grew up in my locality, so I was interested to read the story of a high achiever who became an army nurse. She discovered she had ALS when she couldn't do sit-ups after the birth of her first child. And finally, When I Lay My Isaac Down tells Carol Kent's story of life since her son, a graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy, committed murder. My reviews for these books appear at Amazon.com. Right now I'm reading The Velvet Elvis--and loving it. Watch for my review. |
